Why have a massage?

The most fundamental role of a massage is to promote a state of relaxation. Why is that so important you may wonder? It is so because the body functions at its best when relaxed and in balance. The body is in fact able to heal itself when in a state of balance.

A little stress is part of life however when over exposed to stress our body may present with a number of ailments;  coughs, colds, skin conditions, disturbed sleep and muscular aches and pains. Chronic stress can lead to more severe and debilitating conditions.

Finding or making time for oneself will preserve your health and wellbeing. To make your own health a priority is not selfish at all because when you are healthy and happy all of your relationships will prosper;  with your children, partner, work colleagues and friends.

Some of the benefits of massage include:

  • Reduced stress and anxiety
  • Improved sleep
  • Lowered blood pressure
  • Slows heart rate
  • Strengthens the immune system
  • Calms the nervous system
  • Improves circulation therefore skin and muscle tone
  • Relieves chronic pain
  • Releases endorphins ( the body’s feelgood chemical!)

So why wouldn’t you have a massage?
